Most of us living with persistent pain or long term health conditions, seem to be all or nothing people.
Our answer is ‘balance’ so how best can practice balance in our Supported Self Management Plan.
Here are some easy ways to find balance in managing long-term pain or health issues:
Organise Goals
- Make small, simple goals you can reach easily.
Practice
- Spend time doing things that make you feel good, like reading or taking a walk in nature.
Create a Daily Routine
- Plan your day with time for work, rest, fun, and meaningful activities .
Listen to Your Body
- If you feel tired or in pain, take a break. It's okay to rest.
Meaningful movement
- Use meaningful movement like walking, stretching, or yoga that feel good for your body.
Talk to Others
- Share your feelings with friends, family, or support groups. Talking helps
Practice Mindfulness
- Try deep breathing or meditation to help calm your mind.
Learn About Your Condition
- Read or ask questions about your health to understand it better.
Be Flexible
- If something isn’t working, be willing to change your plan.
Celebrate Progress
- Remember to be proud of your small achievements.
