Here are five simple self-management tips for dealing with persistent pain and long-term health conditions during a heatwave:

Stay Hydrated:

Drink plenty of water to keep your body cool and to stay healthy. You can add some lemon or cucumber for extra flavor!

Dress Comfortably:

Wear loose, light-colored clothing made of breathable materials like cotton. This helps you stay cool and can make you feel more comfortable.

Find Cool Places:

Stay in a cool place indoors as much as possible. If you have a fan or air conditioning, use it to help lower the temperature. You can also use a damp cloth on your forehead to feel cooler.

Take MORE Pacing Breaks:

If you're doing anything active, take regular PACING breaks.

Plan Your Day:

To avoid the heat, try to do important activities early in the morning or later in the evening when it’s cooler. This can help you feel better and manage your pain more easily.

Stay safe and take care of yourself during the heatwave!
